Part of a series of posters created to advertise a ballet company's season (for purposes of this project, I have chosen the New York City Ballet Company.) Red Giselle is a modern ballet, set in 1920-30s Russia, and tells the heartbreaking story of Olga Spessivtseva, a prima ballerina whose life was a maze of intrigue and disappointment. In creating this poster I looked at many art deco works from the period, and chose to mimic their iconic style. I also chose traditional silkscreen as my medium. Accompanying ticket design can be found here.
