Part of a series of posters created to advertise a ballet company's season (for purposes of this project, I have chosen the New York City Ballet Company.) Coppelia is a story of masks and deceptions- a young man falls in love with a beautiful girl and almost gives his life for her only to discover in the final moments that she is nothing but a mechanical doll created by a mad scientist. I feel that it is a sinister story, and have therefore allowed the far more complex right side of the composition to dominate the piece. Accompanying ticket design can be found here.
